Violin Federation!

Ali did just great! She played for three teachers (who were judges) at 10:00 am last Saturday, April 25th at Gardner Hall at the University of Utah.









We are so proud of her and happy that she is learning to play the violin.



On our way we stopped and picked up Grandma Diane so she could come with us. They wouldn't let us take pictures during her performance, or in the room so we had to get a few outside.

All the students which were with her did such a good job.

I remember when I had to do federation at BYU when I was playing the piano. It was pretty nerve wracking, and I was always so glad when it was done and over. Ali didn't complain though.

We love you Ali! Great Job!

Kids Market Place

Ali came home from school and said she had her career for kids market place this week.

This is where they get to pull a career out of a hat, have a budget according to there job, and then try to live off it.

They purposely didn't let them know what their career would be so you had to come of with things you had at home. They didn't want parents to run out an buy things. So she came home from school and said that she was a sales person. We had to come up with an outfit, and something to sale (props).

Our brains tried to kick in gear, yeah hard sometimes. She deciede to sell pencil pals and hair gadgets. We made some and a name badge.

While at the market place she purchased a sports car. Later found out that it was to expensive and traded it in for an economical car. Went to the animal shelter...(I knew that would be a given) They had to pay utilities, rent etc and either break even or have some left over.

Sounds like it was a sucess she had a great time.

She was a good salesman cause she came home and we had to make more because everyone wanted one and she ran out. She was beaming because won in her class for creativity and props.

Movie Theater Field Trip

Zach had another fun field trip at school.


Bedtime stories and a tour of the movie theater. I was kind of like a little date with him.
We had fun together the whole afternoon.

The movie theater gave them a strip of film. 12 squares is one second.

We always have an Easter picture with our neighbor friends on the lawn after church. This will be the last one with these friends. We will miss them.

Horsin Around

Zach and Hayley playing cowboys.

My mom called me at work today and said, just wanted you to know that your son is riding a horse today. I said oh that is nice, I wish I were. I had taken these pictures of Zach and Hayley a few weeks ago and they were back at it today.

She said that today they were in the house and my dad went and got the horses out for them to ride. At that point Zach had changed his mind and didn't want to. Then Hayley being the little mom that she is said..."Zach you can't do that". "You have to go with me now". "If you don't, Grandpa will have to take the saddle off, put it back in the barn, put the other stuff away and the horse when he got everything out for you to ride" (how is that for a 6 year old?) Zach then said...."oh, alright". and hopped on.

They do love being able to ride around the pasture and be the boss. They are so cute and remind me of when I was younger and doing the same thing.

Jaxsen (my nephew) cracks me up! He is at that stage where you can get him to say anything.

I was messin with him and he was cute.

I wish that kids could stay this age a little longer than they do. Not that I don't like where my kids are now, they just grow up toooooo fast!

Discovery Children's Museum Gateway

On Friday, March 27th, we had another fun filled day with the cousins. It was also my dad's day off and he came with. On the way into town we stopped at a few places so he could do his errands. Then he dropped us off and went and got a hair cut. He came back about an hour later and played with the kids. It was SOOOO fun. That was our first trip to the children's museum since they moved to Gateway. I think we were there for almost 4 hours and the kids would have stayed longer. They had so many neat things to play with and experiment. Thanks Aunt Hilerie for organizing making it happen. ;)

Swimmin - Friends - Cousins

My great friend Tammy met me over at the South Jordan Recreation Center for a fun time of swimming on my day off. (March 20th). My sister's were also able to come and we had a great time for a few hours at the pool. It was great to play with friends and cousins. They are like little fish, love the water. We had Camden, Riley, Morgan, - Alicyn, Zachary, - Emily, Spencer - Colby, Jolie - Hayley and Jaxsen. Aunts, Christy, Adrienne, Andrea, - me and Tammy. Also Grandma Diane, and Aunt Hilerie came but didn't swim - they were our cheering section.

After we had enough swimming - which conveniently ended when someone did something in the pool that they weren't suppose to (I was way ready to go then anyway, and it helped get the kids out without a fight) Not saying that it is OK to do that! but, it made my life easier at the moment.

Our family went to La Luna for dinner afterwards. So Yummy! What a fun filled day! Thanks for going everyone!

They are weapons!

I came down to the kitchen and every action figure that Zach could find was holding a new weapon he discovered. He thought that was pretty cool. I didn't say anything, just smiled. He was being inventive. Notice how his action figures don't miss out on anything, even if they are missing a limb. Must be those cotton swap light sabers. We have and armless power ranger, a legless batman, but they don't miss a beat with Zach.

A little bit later I came back into the room and the whole box of cotton swabs was dumped out on the couch....yes, more weapons were needed.

Day 4 at Disneyland - California Adventure

Our Last Day!
My feet and ankles were ready, however, the little kid in me wasn't.

We hopped back and forth between parks today. Rode on our favorite rides in each place.

It was our early morning entry today. We got in an hour before the park opened. Not sure how many other hundreds of people got to do the same thing, but the lines were pretty short. We went on Space Mountain and Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters first thing.

We waited in line to go in pixie hollow to meet Tinkerbell and the fairies. We probably waited 45 minutes or so (20 minutes before the park opened to the general public). Dave and I were let down, we were disappointed, but the kids weren't. They were able to meet Silvermist, and Tinkerbell. It looked so big, Dave and I thought they would meet more fairies than that. We were glad that we got in line before the park opened so we didn't have to wait over an hour for that. Silvermist was really nice and talked with them really cute. Tinkerbell lives in a teapot. They are standing in front of that.

We went to Jedi Training in hopes that Zach would be picked to go up. He was so excited to maybe become a padawan, and learn some moves. Before the training began one of the Disney workers said that 32 kids are chosen. The "Jedi Master" feels the force and calls you out. Those who are more energetic and rowdy might be picked. So Zach and I made a fool of ourselves, trying to draw attention to him. It didn't work. Our "FORCE" wasn't strong enough. Zach had fun watching the other kids though. They taught them a few moves and then they had to fight the dark side in order to complete their training. That was when Darth Vader and Darth Maul came out. They each fought one or the other and then got a certificate afterwards.

Yoda talks at the end (Speakers) and states they all did well etc, etc.

When it was over and we were waiting in line for another ride, Zach asked Dave and I if we heard Yoda talking from heaven. (Since he died in the movie.)

Also, after we left watching the Jedi training, Zach said: "mom, dad, you know what?"

"I would go with Darth Vader" - "I want to be on the Dark Side" - "I want to be bad" -

"I want to be just like Darth Maul" I can just picture him THE only one that would raise his hand in the whole crowd and go to the dark side. LOL!! I laughed out loud. Dave and I got a kick out of that. We laughed about it all day.

We always get a picture of Ali in the "A". Zach had to accompany her this time. He wanted to lie down on the "C" and I didn't realize it at the time but Ali had her fist up shaking it when I took the picture, cause she wanted to lie down there instead. It actually looks like she is going to stab him or something.

Grizzly River Run - Ali really loves the water rides. Once she and Dave went on it, Zach had to go too. He wore the poncho that Dave bought for me when we first went on it. He didn't get as wet that time. Ali didn't mind!

California Screamin....this is right before they shoot off like a rocket. I caught them with my quick shot mode on my camera. Pretty Cool!

Tryin on hats again....SO FUN!

One funny thing, we got off Splash Mountain and Zach saw Rabbit standing by Pooh and Tigger. He was so hilarious! Just had to go see him and get his autograph. We haven't ever seen Rabbit at the park before. So this was exciting to them.
