Zach - Back to School

Monday, September 8th
Well the morning started out great. Zach was so excited to go back to school. I don't know what it is with him and me but as soon as we get to school his mood totally changes. He turns into a stinker! ...and I mean a stinker.

He clings to me, throws a fit and just won't cooperate at all. I tried to get some cute pictures of him and his first day. Well you see how that turned out.
Hiding behind the door

I also had a little bit of a melt down myself. I think it was a mixture of things, being a working mom and wishing I could do the simple every day things that mom's do. Like picking your kid up from school...seeing how their day is first hand instead of asking hours later and getting the same response every day...I DON'T KNOW. Stressing out of how to get him to school, pick him up and to the daycare too and not being in trouble with work or working til 8:00 pm. I am sure being a little emotional about Grandma B didn't help the situation either. I cried to Miss Lisa when I was leaving.
Then cried to Megan like a boob when I went to pick Zach up that day, and even more so when she told me with a smile and cheerful grin that she was more than happy to help me out with whatever. She is my angel. She is going to pick Zach up at daycare every school day and then take him back there after school so I can go to work earlier and have a better schedule. I didn't get off work last year until 7:00 at night because I had to take Zach to school every day. Now I might be able to get dinner on the table before 9:00 and have homework and violin practice completed without pulling my hair out. Talk about flopping into bed ready to die. I owe Megan BIG TIME!
After school was a different story....I walked with Lexi to pick him up and he was all smiles and happy.

Catchin Up - A Little

Updates!

September 5th and 6th we went camping to Starvation Reservoir. It is probably the last camping trip we will do together as a family this year....pretty sad. The summer just went to fast and here we are starting to think of what Christmas presents to buy AGAIN.
Watching a movie in the boat - under the blanket so they could see - the sun kept shining on the screen

August 27th
Zach had preschool orientation at Miss Lisa's. He was excited because Riley Hicks is in his class and Riley is his pal. He was also excited to meet new friends and get to know them.

August 8th and 9th
We went camping with Dave's mom, his brothers Tim, Richard and wife Robynn. Ali and Zach had a great time playing with their cousins, Colton, Kassie & Morgan. Our camp spot was great and so pretty. I hope we can go back there again.
It rained a lot! Pretty much the whole time. We would just get dried out and it would rain again.
Still it was better to be there than in the city with the phone, tv and hussle and bussle of things.
Ali and Colton made a house for a potgut we had at camp. I Wish they could make one big enough for me. They put food and water in the house too.

The potgut eventually came out to eat, but not at the house while we were there.
Just on a rock - they left food out there too.

The Big Third Grade!

I can't believe how fast my kids are growing up. My friends told me that once they hit Kindergarten it just flies by...I didn't understand it, but I do now. Alicyn started third grade on Wednesday this week. She missed the first two days of school because we were in Alaska. I tried really hard to get "D" track so that we wouldn't have that problem but my attempts failed. She has Mr. Yates and is so excited to have a male teacher. We were able to go and meet with him on July 18th for a while and get to know him prior to our trip. I thought that would be a good idea because then when she started school two days late she would already know where her class room is and her teacher.

She is so excited to begin a new school year.

This is in the morning just before school yesterday.
