Where Have YOU Been?

It has been a year since I last posted on our blog. I can't believe how fast a year goes by now, is it because I am old? Busy? or is time really going faster?

The last year has been so great!!

We have had so many thing happen with us, and this would probably be the longest post in history if I were to recall everything.
In January I was called to be the Young Women's President. I love this calling, and the young women in our ward are so wonderful!

In February I won a trip on the radio to San Diego, which we used in April. We went to the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park - which was awesome!!, LegoLand and of course I can't be that close to Disneyland without going there so we spent a few days there as well. It was a fantastic trip and I mostly liked being away from work and spending good quality time with Dave, Ali and Zach. Our FREE trip wasn't so free though. We still had to fork out money. Our hotel charged $24 a day just to park, but I won't complain much. We had a blast.

Summer went by fast with Girls Camp, Horse Shows and other family activities. I will have to post some pictures soon.

Don't ask me how I did it, but I managed to talk my kids out of birthday parties this year. They love them! Always want friends over, but we didn't have one. It was nice to just spend their birthday's as a family and enjoy each other. Zachary turned 7 in June. Alicyn turned 10 in August. She is a whole decade old now! Incredible, I still remember crying silently on the way to the hospital all those years ago, which only seems like a few NOT 10! One of our traditions is the birthday person gets to pick what they want for dinner. This could be a dinner in, or a dinner out. Zach picked China Chef's in Riverton and Alicyn picked Bonsai in Sandy. It is fun to see what they decide for their special day.
My dear sweet grandma passed away in June. There isn't a day that I don't think of her and her wonderful influence that she has had on my life. I still miss her, I suppose that I always will. I have peace in knowing that this life is just a step and I will see her again. I think of the funny things that she always said, her hugs, her singing, her side dishes, her testimony. I think of everything that matters to me in my life - truly mattered to her as well. She is such an amazing woman. I am glad she will be on the other side to greet me when that day finally comes.

Hopefully I will be back in the blogging world now. I have missed my online journal! Alicyn keeps asking me "when are you going to write on our blog", well now when she gets home today she will have a smile. :)
